Training services

Training courses are developed by our team for people including teachers and guidance staff, accommodated support staff, social workers, frontline and support youth workers and health professionals. We also provide training for parents and carers.

Courses are provided by our consultancy training team who share their own experiences of the specialist services we offer. In doing so, they help raise awareness of sexual health issues, allowing participants to update their own knowledge and consider sensitive approaches and methods that they may use in their work with young people. Joint training is also provided with partner organisations.

All staff with an education role undergo SHARE (sexual health and relationships) training and those with a training responsibility have Training for Trainers Certificates.

Student nurses

At our Edinburgh base, we provide senior student nurses and midwives with the opportunity to spend their elective placement working in the various services we offer. A close working relationship with Napier University ensures that standards are met for a suitable working environment and that all their objectives are met. More junior students visit the branch during their community placement and are often surprised by the diversity and range of our services particularly education.
