Caledonia Youth - It’s what we do
*
*

If you are a health professional, parent, carer, social worker, youth worker, teacher – indeed any person or organisation whose work involves young people - find out more about Caledonia Youth’s special bespoke services.

Our aim is to make Caledonia Youth welcoming to all young people in Scotland, responding to their individual needs, upholding their rights and representing their interests.

We have learned a great deal from young people themselves over the years. Much of our own experience has been gained thanks to listening to and acting upon their concerns. We know that they crave information, advice and support on a range of sexual health and relationship issues that affect not just their wellbeing but also their happiness.

Prevention through progressive education is central to everything we do. Our organisation takes a holistic approach, as we constantly strive to deliver the highest standards of youth orientated services that recognise and cater for their changing sexual health and relationship needs in both educational and clinical settings.

Particularly important to us is our focus on vulnerable and priority groups who, for a wide variety of reasons, often face barriers or find it difficult to access mainstream services. They require our specially tailored support.

Fundamentally, we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge and expertise with the wide group of people who are in direct contact with young people through work or social circumstances. Bespoke training courses, that also reflect competency and education requirements, are provided for professionals, carers and all whose work may impact upon young people and their sexual health.

Our counselling process for young men and women encourages mutually respectful relationships by considering personal circumstances in a non-judgemental manner, helping them explore the options available and reach a decision that feels appropriate. This is achieved in an unbiased, client-centred manner, as we act sensitively to their needs, beliefs and expectations, while covering areas of contraception, pregnancy and relationship difficulties.

Clinical services are offered on an open access basis and at times that we know suit young people. Services are tailored to client needs, allowing a more streamlined approach and ensuring continuity of care.

Please contact our head office at 5 Castle Terrace, Edinburgh, on tel: 0131 229 1402 if you need information on any of our services, including leaflets and other literature, or email: information@caledoniayouth.org.
