Counselling Services
*
*
At Caledonia Youth, we aim to provide counselling for young people in an unbiased, client-centred manner, acting sensitively to their needs, beliefs and expectations, while covering areas of contraception, pregnancy and relationship difficulties. A particular focus is given to groups most at risk of STIs and unplanned pregnancies.

The aim of our counselling process is to consider the personal circumstances of clients in a non-judgemental manner, then help them explore the options available and reach a decision that feels appropriate to them.

Part of the counselling process may involve developing support networks, identifying and acknowledging anxieties and looking at risk taking behaviour and how this can be modified. Clients are given time to express their concerns and are encouraged to consider ways of maintaining their safety in certain situations.

Primarily we concentrate on short-term, focussed work with young people who are facing issues associated with unplanned pregnancy, relationship problems, sexuality and low self-esteem. One of our key areas is counselling and education work with young men. Printed information is provided to back up every counselling session.

Client counselling is offered on an in-reach and outreach basis to suits the needs of individual circumstances.
