Testing |

- We do quick, free pregnancy
tests.
- Tests need to be carried
out at least 2 weeks after
an episode of unprotected
sex or can be carried out
when your period is late.
- Pregnancy tests are carried
out using a small sample of
your urine on a special kit.
- Our tests take around 3
minutes.
- We will discuss the result
with you in detail and give
you information about what
choices you have and what
to do next.
Referral
for termination of pregnancy
All options will be discussed
with you and if you then decide
this is what you want to do we
can refer you for a termination
of pregnancy at hospital. We do
not carry out termination of pregnancy
on the premises. Considering having
a termination of pregnancy (abortion)
is very difficult, and we at CY
will try our best to help you
reach the decision, which is right
for you.
Terminations in this country are
performed legally under the 1967
Abortion Act, which means that
they can only be carried out for
certain reasons, can only be performed
in an approved place, and need
the agreement of two doctors who
must sign a legal form.
We always offer counselling and
this is highly recommended (See
Someone
to talk to section).The Counsellor
will help you understand how you
feel and what to expect, and then
you will see one of our doctors
(usually during the same visit)
who will make a referral to the
hospital for you to have a termination.
