Caledonia Youth Grampian branch offers a range of services to help young people across Grampian to improve their sexual health and relationships. All our services can be provided on an inreach or outreach basis.
Education
We can provide tailor-made education sessions for young people in a group or on a one-to-one basis. The sessions are designed around the needs of the group or individual; we can provide one-off information sessions or longer programmes of work that cover a range of issues including:
- Contraception
- Relationships
- Self-esteem
- Sexually Transmitted Infections
- Appropriate behaviour
- Saying no
We work closely with teachers, carers and other support staff to ensure that materials and content are age and ability appropriate.
Training
We can provide tailor-made training sessions for any group or individual who works with or cares for young people. The sessions will be designed specifically to meet the needs of the group. Possible topics include:
- Contraceptive update
- Sex and the law
- Confidentiality
- Values and attitudes
- How to support young people
Counselling
service
Counselling is a formal helping relationship, which assists young people to explore problems or difficulties. The counsellor uses skills to help explore what is happening and look at ways of making change. Caledonia Youth offers a free and confidential counselling service to young people who:
- Are going through a difficult
period
- Are trying to make an important
decision
- Are having relationship
difficulties
- Want to change something
in life
- Want to be comfortable
and happy with their sexual
health
- Are facing an unplanned
pregnancy
- Have low confidence or
self esteem
Support
Caledonia Youth are happy to offer support to parents and professionals alike. This could include information about local sexual health services, leaflets, advice.
